Job Summary

  • The Assistant Manager, Accounts Receivable is responsible for the management of the accounts receivable (“AR”) of Ventra Health's clients. This person works closely with the Director, Revenue Cycle Management (“Director, RCM”) in overseeing operational processes, personnel, and administrative functions in order to provide superior AR management services. This position ensures client satisfaction by executing the strategic business plan while leading their team. 

Essential Functions and Tasks

  • Partners with the Director RCM to ensures appropriate staffing levels and balance of workload for the AR team and participates in the hiring process 
  • Responsible for consistent and ongoing training of AR team 
  • Performs routine audits and holds monthly/quarterly one-on-one reviews with AR team members 
  • Serves as a resource of knowledge and guidance for the AR team 
  • Develops time management and organizational skills in the AR team to ensure they accomplish their productivity goals each week 
  • Ensures client performance meets or exceeds Ventra Health standards 
  • Ensures that accurate and up-to date instructions surrounding the AR processes are maintained for each assigned client and clearly communicated in a timely manner 
  • Leads team of accounts receivable specialists that are responsible for the following; 
  • Maintaining appropriate days in AR 
  • Maintaining percent of AR over 120 days 
  • Maintaining appropriate percent with credit balances 
  • Maintaining appropriate percent of accounts sent to collections 
  • Ensures timely month end close for all assigned clients 
  • Drives standardization (“One Ventra Health”) of accounts receivable processes including proper documentation, distribution, and communication 
  • Partners with shared services to ensure proper management of client processes to include timely processing charge/payment/adjustment batches 
  • Supports implementation of follow-up processes with off-shore resources 
  • Communicates AR performance and payer issues/trends to Director(s), RCM timely 
  • Supports a positive workplace culture to attract and retain revenue cycle talent on assigned client(s) 
  • Supports the “One Ventra Health” model as it relates to changes in the revenue cycle management processes 
  • Understands and complies with applicable laws regarding billing, collections, and refund processing 
  • Communicates employee performance to Director(s), RCM and HR 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma    
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Benefits, or related field, preferred, or equivalent training and/or experience
  • At least five (5) years of revenue cycle management experience or account receivables in the healthcare and/or health insurance industry
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory/management/leadership experience, preferred
  • BPO Billing experience preferred

Compensation

  • Base Compensation will be based on various factors unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. 
  • This position is also eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus in accordance with company policies.
