Job Summary

  • The Supervisor, Chart Research is primarily responsible for their respective internal departments within Chart Research, ensuring the team is working efficiently and correctly while maintaining schedules, employee relations and continuing to improve the department workflow.

Essential Functions and Tasks

  • Supervises and trains assigned staff, conducts performance appraisals, makes employment and discipline recommendations, and coordinates work assignments. Manages HRIS employee schedules: PTO, call outs, timesheet corrections.
  • Troubleshoots facilities, follows up and finds innovative ways to allow the team to work more efficiently.
  • Ensures close and ongoing communication with the Coding, Front End, IT and Client Success teams.
  • Reviews hospitalist medical records and identifies pertinent information.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in handing patient health information and/or medical records preferred.
  • At least six (6) months of supervisory/management/leadership experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information.
  • Working knowledge of department roles and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) such as Cerner, Meditech, Epic, PICIS.
  • Strong supervisory/management skills.
