Essential Functions and Tasks

  • Analyze and interpret healthcare datasets provided by external partners (e.g., hospitals, physician groups, third-party vendors).

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom data parsers and transformation scripts using programming languages such as C#, Python, AWK, and C++.
  • Collaborate with implementation teams, data engineers, and revenue cycle stakeholders to establish reliable, secure data feeds.
  • Perform thorough data quality checks and validation to ensure integrity, completeness, and alignment with business rules.
  • Create detailed documentation for parser logic, data mappings, and integration processes.
  • Participate in meetings with external partners to understand data delivery formats, schedules, and expectations.
  • Work on cross-functional projects to support data integration and transformation initiatives in line with RCM requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data inconsistencies, parsing errors, and integration issues.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a data analysis, data integration, or software development role.
  • Experience working with healthcare datasets such as patient demographics, schedules, charges, medical records, claims, eligibility, etc.
  • Familiarity with Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) systems, workflows, or applications is a strong plus.
  • Experience in building custom parsers and data transformation tools across diverse systems and file formats (e.g., flat files, HL7, CSV, JSON, XML).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in either of the following programming languages C#, Python, AWK, or C++ for developing parsers and handling data transformation.
  • Familiarity with scripting, regular expressions, and data formatting concepts.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Comfortable working in Windows and Linux environments.

Domain Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of U.S. healthcare data standards and terminology (e.g., CPT, ICD-10, HL7, EDI 837/835).
  • Familiarity with data flows within healthcare billing systems and RCM processes.

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong data profiling and validation skills.
  • Ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and transformation logic between external and internal data sets.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
