Job Summary

  • As a Ventra Health Solution Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing technology solutions that meet the complex needs of healthcare organizations. You will collaborate with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and technical domains to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and efficient IT solutions.

Essential Functions and Tasks

 

  • Solution Design and Development:
    • Lead the design and development of end-to-end IT solutions that align with healthcare industry standards and best practices.
    • Architect solutions for healthcare applications, systems integration, data management, and analytics.
    • Ensure solutions promote interoperability, scalability, and reliability to support healthcare operations and patient care.
  • Technical Leadership and Guidance:
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, analysts, project managers) to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
    • Mentor junior architects and developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with clinical stakeholders, IT teams, and executive leadership to understand business needs and requirements.
    • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
    • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, define architecture solutions, and resolve technical issues.
  • Solution Evaluation and Selection:
    • Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and tools that best fit the organization's needs and strategic goals.
    • Conduct proof-of-concepts and feasibility studies to validate technical solutions and mitigate risks.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all solutions adhere to healthcare industry regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
    • Implement security best practices and protocols to protect patient data and sensitive information.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in healthcare IT.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize existing systems and processes.
    • Participate in strategic planning and roadmap development for IT initiatives.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) as a Solution Architect or similar role within the healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare IT systems, EMR/EHR systems, medical imaging systems, and healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Certification in Enterprise Architecture (e.g., TOGAF) and relevant healthcare IT certifications are advantageous.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner.
  • Ability to remain flexible and work within a collaborative and fast paced environment.
  • Basic use of computer, telephone, internet, copier, fax, and scanner.
  • Basic touch 10 key skills.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • Understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel (pivot tables), and database software skills.
